My life feels like an extended run of Waiting for Godot. I take some small comfort from this bit of dialogue:
VLADIMIR:
Did you ever read the Bible?
ESTRAGON:
The Bible . . . (He reflects.) I must have taken a look at it.
VLADIMIR:
Do you remember the Gospels?
ESTRAGON:
I remember the maps of the Holy Land. Coloured they were. Very pretty. The Dead Sea was pale blue. The very look of it made me thirsty. That's where we'll go, I used to say, that's where we'll go for our honeymoon. We'll swim. We'll be happy.
VLADIMIR:
You should have been a poet.
ESTRAGON:
I was. (Gesture towards his rags.) Isn't that obvious?
Silence.
What else can I say? This too shall pass.

As a student of the human condition, I thought you find this string of articles interesting..

Well, that fills one with a ton of hope... I try to keep a few things in mind at all times:
1) It can always get worse AND it can always get better AND it can always stay pretty much the same for a long time
2) It is seldom as bad as you think/feel it is
3) Minimize your desires and you will minimize your suffering
4) Life, much like the ground, is hard, so wear a fucking helmet
